The African American Historical and Cultural Society of Bucks County invites you to join us in the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the unveiling of the Harriet Tubman Monument at Riverfront, Lion’s Park in Bristol, Pa. on June 25, 2016.
We will meet at 10 AM at the Monument for a tribute to both Tubman and the many who joined in support of the abolitionist movement and the “Underground Railroad” as well as to those who contributed in various ways to assure this monument’s construction.
Current President of AAHCSBC, Deal Wright will present special recognition to the family of the now deceased Sidney L. Taylor who served as President throughout the planning and completion of the monument.
The program will continue at the Fellowship Hall at the Community Baptist Church located at 225 Radcliffe St. in Bristol. Related displays, acknowledgements, presentations and remarks will include a first person dramatization of Tubman’s life stories.
An informal time for discussion, fellowship and refreshments will follow.
