About Us

African American Historical and Cultural Society of Bucks County

Thanks for visiting the African American Historical and Cultural Society of Bucks County. For more than two decades, our organization has focused on researching, documenting and sharing the historical footprint of African Americans in Bucks County.

Our board consists of interested members who live throughout Bucks County and adjacent areas in the tri-state region.

One of the hallmarks of our organization has been the completion of the Harriet Ross Tubman statue dedicated in 2005. It is located at Lions Park in Bristol Borough. We collaborate with other organizations that share our interest. We also present the rich cultural history of African Americans in Bucks County at local schools, festivals and various venues throughout the year. We continue to acquire cultural artifacts and books, attend lectures, do historical presentations. Our future objective is to obtain a building that will permit us to share our cultural heritage with other ethnic groups.
